About me
Ivor van Dartel designed his first electric aircraft in 2007 while studying Aerospace Engineering at TU Delft together with ten other students. After completing his master's thesis at Lockheed Martin on the electrical system of the F-35, Ivor joined Airbus. There he held various roles in engineering, operations, manufacturing, program management and research and technology. In addition, Ivor was the project manager responsible for the hybrid electric drive system of the E-Fan X Hybrid Electric Demonstrator. At the end of 2021, Ivor founded VÆRIDION with his co-founder Dr. Sebastian Seemann, with the aim of achieving a green revolution in aviation with battery electric aircraft within this decade. The concept is based on two key proprietary innovations: maximum integration of wing and battery modules and a fully redundant and independent multi-engine and single-propeller propulsion system. The VÆRIDION Microliner will enable zero-emission regional aviation by 2030, helping to achieve climate targets without restricting air traffic. VÆRIDION is also an active member of the European Regions Airline Association (ERA).
